From 1 July 2008, the new and (mostly) reduced Recupel rates for consumers come into force. For distributors in the distribution chain, these rates have been in force since 1 April 2008.
The reduction in the new rates has come about through technological changes and improved recycling processes.
Alongside these new rates, the administrative procedures are also somewhat easier. There is now only one product list, the number of product categories has been significantly reduced, and in future the declaration must be made quarterly.
